River Tale topics:
DIVE INTO MAMMALS
Introduce your students to the wonders of mammals that live in and around the waters of Western PA. Preserved animal pelts and skulls help everyone figure out that what makes animals different is what makes them very special and able to live in different places. Adaptation costumes help students act out behaviors of some very clever creatures.
BRIDGE CITY, USA
Time to build a bridge! Pittsburgh has more bridges per person than any other place on earth! Students explore the very basics of bridge building and try their hand at constructing some bridges and arches, and learn about the history of bridges in Western PA.
MOUNTAIN, RIVER, SEA AND SKY
Around the water cycle we go, as students learn how water is crucial to every living thing on Earth! Students experiment with water to build their own watershed. hands-on activities teach about rain, erosion, water pollution, and water filtration.
