![]() Boy Scout & Girl Scout ProgramsAhoy there Scouts!Climb aboard one of RiverQuest's floating classrooms and work toward your badge requirements with the crew from RiverQuest. Scouts can participate in fun, hands-on educational experiences related to our three rivers. Join us for programs on ecology, water chemistry, navigation, physical science, bridges and local history. Spend an exciting morning or afternoon on the waters of the Monongahela, Ohio and the Allegheny. We offer Two Special Badge Programs for Girl Scouts--scroll down for details. Girl Scout Badge Programs:Water Wonders Junior Girl Scout Badge You can't get much closer to the wonders of water than out on our boats on the rivers of Pittsburgh! Tour our working science vessels and learn about the jobs of our captains, crew and science instructors; explore the water cycle and river food chain firsthand from "the Oh, the Al and the Mon" ; enjoy a serene moment on the water to write a poem or draw a picture; and learn about bodies of water from "La Belle Riviere," the Ohio River.
Water Everywhere Brownie Try-It Our first voyage for those little salts! Experience your Brownie Try-It on board RiverQuest's unique floating labs! We'll explore the world of water! Find out where your water originates and learn more about the world's most important renewable resource! Try your hand at "cleaning up" some "dirty" water; use real scientific equipment to sample for critters and build your own; and make startling comparisons between salt and fresh water.
