SCOUT DAY PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

It's Alive! Ecoadventure
Sail into adventure looking for signs of life in the watery world that runs through our city. Search for microscopic clues in a river water sample. Get up close and personal with local waterfowl, learn about native fish, and hunt for unbelievable creatures from the muddy river bottom.

Brownie Girl Scout Water Everywhere! Try-it

Find out where your water originates and learn more about the world's most important renewable resource! Try your hand at "cleaning up" some "dirty" water; use real scientific equipment to sample for critters and build your own; and make startling comparisons between salt and fresh water.

Junior Girl Scout Water Wonders

Tour our working science vessels and learn about the jobs of our captains, crew and science instructors; explore the water cycle and river food chain firsthand from "the Oh, the Al and the Mon" ; enjoy a serene moment on the water to write a poem or draw a picture; and learn about bodies of water from "La Belle Riviere," the Ohio River.
