RQ Summer Camps 2013

 

RQ Camps are educational, fun and recreational programs for various ages that combine a variety of LAND-BASED and RIVER-BASED explorations.

ANGLER'S ADVENTURE (AGES 7 - 9 and 10 - 12)

JUNE 17 - 21, 2013

A RiverQuest favorite returns to the rivers for a week of learning and fun centering upon the watery world of fish.  Junior anglers learn or practice rod-and-reel and flyfishing skills and learn about ecological conservation during this 5-day session.  Fishing gear is provided, but experienced angler kids are welcome to bring their own rod and reel. Camp days run 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  

Angler's Adventure Fee:  $250

RIVER CAMP with Carnegie Science Center (AGES 8 - 12)

JULY 8 - 12, 2013

RiverQuest teams with Carnegie Science Center present a summer daycamp featuring the green vessel Explorer and the wonders of the Carnegie Science Center. Students spend half-days sailing with RiverQuest onboard EXPLORER on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.


Camp days run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Participants enjoy a wide variety of activities that explore water, environmental science, weather, boats and navigation, and more.

BAYER SUSTAINABILITY CAMP (AGES 14 - 16)

JULY 21 - AUGUST 2, 2013

Our world-class 2-week international residential camp, sponsored by Bayer USA Foundation and Bayer Science & Education Foundation, returns this summer.  Students age 14-16 can apply for acceptance into the program. Camp size is very limited; recruitment and acceptance is by competitive application, and is conducted by the Bayer USA Foundation.
