DETAILS
Life Jackets: Campers are not required to wear life jackets aboard designated areas onboard the vessels of the RiverQuest fleet, due to railings which meet or exceed U.S. Coast Guard regulations. Children may choose to wear life jackets while onboard; boat captain and instructors may choose to outfit campers in life jackets at any time. Additionally, campers participating in "Bugs & Boats" Camp will be required to wear life jackets during camp activities involving kayaking, canoeing, or the like.
Activities and Attire: All camp sessions include daily themed activities (science, fishing, boating) depending on the camp. Camp days also include group games, crafts, and environmentally themed activities. Participants should dress to have fun! Sometimes we get wet or dirty! Dressing comfortably for the weather is a must, as are rubber-soled closed-toed shoes.
Camp Program Discipline Policy: All campers are expected to participate in activities, and to behave in a polite manner. Teasing, improper language, horseplay on vessels, on shore, or at field trip locations can not be tolerated. Participants who are repeatedly unable to follow guidelines will be dismissed to their parent or guardian without refund, to ensure the quality of the camp experience for all customers.
Pre-camp and Post-camp care will be available for a small fee for all camps, and is provided by our neighbors at Carnegie Science Center between the hours of 7:30 -9:00 AM and 3:00-5:00 PM. To register for this service or for more information, call Carnegie Science Center at 412-237-1637.
